    Tasting Notes

    • Straw gold in colour.
    • The nose shows fresh aromas of stone fruits with a hint of strawberries.
    • The palate is zesty and crisp, finishing clean and refreshing.

  • Pinot Gris, not Pinot Grigio. Same grape, entirely different intention. Where Grigio is made lean and crisp for drinking fast, Gris is left to ripen and build texture and this is the fuller, silkier end of the family. Grown on a single cool-climate block in Canyonleigh, it is the textural white a winter table has been waiting for. The fruit was left to hang into the cool Southern Highlands autumn, building the ripeness and weight that give this style its texture while the altitude held on to the natural acidity underneath. Grown on a single block at PepperGreen Estate, this wine reflects the unique terroir of Canyonleigh altitude, cool nights and the conditions that give our whites their distinctive drive and character. Crafted with minimal intervention to let the variety speak for itself.

    Tasting Notes

    • A subtle bronze in colour.
    • Nose presents dried tropical fruit, pineapple and ripe pear, with a whisper of musk.
    • Rich, silky and textural on the palate with ripe pear and warm spice, carrying to a long, smooth finish.

    Food Pairing

This is a white with enough weight and texture to sit beside cold-weather cooking. Where a lighter white would disappear, the Gris holds its ground against cream, butter, roasted flavours and gentle spice. Pasta and Risotto: wild mushroom risotto, creamy pappardelle, pumpkin gnocchi, carbonara Roasts and White Meats: roast chicken with thyme, slow-roasted pork belly, crackling and apple, veal schnitzel Richer Seafood: seared scallops, prawns in garlic butter, smoked trout, fish pie Spice: Vietnamese and Thai salads, mild curries, five-spice duck pancakes Cheese: semi-hard cheeses, Comté, gruyère, aged gouda, washed rind

    Serving Suggestion

Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a medium-sized white wine glass. A touch warmer than you would pour a crisp white -served too cold, the texture and spice that make this wine what it is go quiet. Give it ten minutes out of the fridge and let it open. The 2023 Pinot Gris is currently featured in our Tasting Room paired with wild mushroom and parmesan risotto. • Two gold medals for the 2024 Semi-Dry Riesling Single Vineyard (Gold and 2026 Best Wine Pairing with Sushi) at the 2026 Sakura Wine Awards. That is not just our opinion. 430 women wine professionals in Tokyo blind tasted over 4,000 wines. Crisp acidity, gentle sweetness, clean finish. It works just as well with spicy Thai and Vietnamese dishes as with a plate of nigiri.

    Tasting Notes

    • Light, bright straw in the glass.
    • Fresh lime blossom nose with a mineral which carries on into a clean, fresh palate.
    • Drink now or enjoy aged.

Reviews 93/100 points by Nick Butler
Instantly savoury and under-stated. Aromatics are more Old World than primary and berry driven - spicy oak, dried herbs and just enough flesh and ripeness to match the structure. Something undeniably compelling about this wine. Wrestling for ripeness in an Australian sense, though lovers of Bordeaux would perceive no deficiency. A delicate, long finish with ripe tannins. • 2023 Pinot Noir Tugalong Road

Named for the road it's grown on.

The 2023 Pinot Noir Tugalong Road is a single-vineyard, cool-climate Pinot Noir from PepperGreen Estate in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Grown along Tugalong Road, the fruit benefits from cool nights and a long, slow ripening season, giving a wine of finesse rather than force.

    Tasting Notes

    • Colour: Translucent rhodolite garnet.
    • Nose: Strawberry, layered with earth, spice and vanilla.
    • Palate: Morello cherry and red fruits, with vanilla, spice and a savoury earthiness following through.
    • Texture: Silky mouthfeel with a fine, soft tannin finish.
    • Body: Light to medium bodied, elegant and savoury.

    Food pairing

Duck and salmon are the natural partners. In the PepperGreen Estate Tasting Room, our chef pairs it with crisp duck confit,  five-spice with master stock on the dinner menu, or with roast kipfler potatoes and blood orange jus at lunch. At home, try it with roast duck, seared salmon, mushroom dishes or a simple charcuterie board.

    Serving Suggestion

Serve lightly chilled (14–16°C). Drink now through 2030.

  • This rich, cool climate Shiraz has a powerful palate with an abundance of dry tannin. Cedar and leather aromas lead to a structured, full-bodied finish, with the depth to reward cellaring. Awarded: 2021 Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards Silver Medal 2023 London Wine Competition Bronze Medal Crafted to be enjoyed now or cellared, the 2018 Shiraz shows how much character a cool-climate red can carry.

    Tasting Notes

    • Intense ruby red in colour
    • Cedar and leather aromas on the nose
    • A rich and powerful palate, finishing with an abundance of nice dry tannin
    • A cool climate Shiraz with cellaring potential

    Food Pairing

Shiraz with this much structure loves rich, savoury food. Its dry tannins are softened by protein and fat, so it suits slow-cooked and grilled dishes best. Red Meat: Slow-braised beef cheek, lamb shoulder, rib-eye with peppercorn sauce Game and Charcuterie: Venison, duck breast, smoked meats Hearty Mains: Beef and mushroom pie, wild mushroom risotto, aged-cheese lasagne Barbecue: Slow-cooked ribs, steak, spiced lamb cutlets Cheese: Aged cheddar, gruyère, hard aged cheeses

    Serving Suggestion

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees in a large red wine glass. Decanting for 30 to 60 minutes will help the aromas open up and soften the tannins. Enjoy now or cellar with confidence. Purchase a case of wine and receive a 10% discount (includes mixed varietals) at checkout.
