• One of the most rare and exciting white wines we have produced. Arneis is an ancient Italian variety from the Piedmont hills, once nearly lost to history and still exceptionally uncommon in Australia. Grown at altitude in the cool-climate Southern Highlands, our single vineyard expression is aromatic, food-friendly and utterly distinctive.

The Arneis was harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve the variety's natural aromatics and freshness.

Grown on a single block at PepperGreen Estate, this wine reflects the unique terroir of Canyonleigh - altitude, cool nights and the conditions that give our whites their distinctive drive and character.

Crafted with minimal intervention to let the variety speak for itself. Unoaked and made to be enjoyed young while its florals are at their most expressive.

    Tasting Notes

    • Chiffon yellow in colour.
    • Nose presents notes of delicate honeysuckle and white florals
    • Fresh pear, white peach and subtle almond on the palate

    Food Pairing

Arneis is one of the most naturally food-friendly white wines you will encounter. Its freshness and gentle aromatic lift complement a wide range of dishes, particularly those with a little richness or Mediterranean influence.

Seafood: Seared scallops, grilled prawns, steamed mussels, crumbed whiting

Pasta and Risotto: creamy risotto, crab linguine, mushroom pasta, gnocchi with sage butter

Light Mains: Pan-seared barramundi, roast chicken, veal with salsa verde

Antipasto: Burrata, prosciutto, marinated artichokes, grilled asparagus

Cheese: Fresh buffalo mozzarella, young pecorino, mild goat's cheese

    Serving Suggestion

Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a medium-sized white wine glass. Best enjoyed young and fresh, while its delicate florals and stone-fruit aromatics are at their most expressive.

The 2025 Arneis is currently featured in our Tasting Room paired with sundried tomato and basil arancini with tomato sugo and grated Reggiano Parmesan.

Instantly savoury and under-stated. Aromatics are more Old World than primary and berry driven - spicy oak, dried herbs and just enough flesh and ripeness to match the structure. Something undeniably compelling about this wine. Wrestling for ripeness in an Australian sense, though lovers of Bordeaux would perceive no deficiency. A delicate, long finish with ripe tannins.
